Wonder Woman Origin Movie Rumors

Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman

Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman

Speculation on the origins and power levels of Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman character in the upcoming Superman vs. Batman movie hit the internet today after comments by Bill "Jett" Ramey  (@BATMANONFILM) of the Batman on Film website, in which he speculated on the details of Wonder Woman's character in the controversial DC Superhero film project. Ramey ponders the origin of Wonder Woman in the movie.  One problem with Wonder Woman is the mystical, magical origin of the Amazon Princess.  Comic book fans of the most powerful woman in DC Comics are familiar with her unique origin, but that story may be hard to put onto a movie project, especially one in which Wonder Woman is at least a third-tier hero (after Superman and Batman).  Ramey's speculation (which he says is only his opinion), is that the movie version of Wonder Woman has her as a descendant of the ancient Kryptonians who explored and colonized the galaxy (as shown in the Man of Steel movie), with powers diluted from long exposure to Earth.

Wow!  Where did THAT come from?  That is as far from the original origin of Wonder Woman as you can get.  However, it would fit into the Man of Steel storyline, explain who and what she is fairly easily, and make it easy for the millions of moviegoers who have never picked up a Wonder Woman comic or graphic novel in their lives. While Ramey says this is only his opinion of how it will go in the Man of Steel sequel, and he claims to have no inside knowledge, his website has proven to get the facts on Batman movie stuff right in the past. What say you all?  Stick to the original origin and powers of our favorite Amazonian Princess, or make it all modern and easy to digest?  (Gee, am I biased here, or what?)  Feel free to leave comments on this burning question of our age...
