All New Invaders #1 (2014)
Review and Summary of All-New Invaders #1, featuring Captain America, the Original Human Torch, Bucky the Winter Soldier, Namor the Sub-Mariner, and the Kree as the villains.
The comic opens in a prologue, in which we see several Kree soldiers and Fang, a dead member of the Shi'ar Imperial Guard. The Kree are looking for something they call the Gods' Whisper, or at least the part of it that Namor hid, they say. They find this Gods' Whisper and the prologue ends and the main story picks up.

Jim Hammond, the original Human Torch, is living as a human mechanic in the small town of Blaketon, Illinois. He is attacked by Tanalth the Pursuer, of the Kree Pursuer Corps, who is seeking something from his memory. During her battle with the Torch, Tanalth says that by probing his memory, she did indeed recover the last piece of information she needed. During her mind probe of Hammond, he experiences a memory of his time with the Invaders of World War Two, though it is a memory of an event he did not recall participating in. In the memory (served as a flashback, the Invaders (Sub-Mariner, Bucky, the Torch, and Major Liberty), along with U.S. Army troops, are battling Nazi troops commanded by Baron Strucker. Also, Strucker has a device with which he is able to control the Norse Goddess of Death, Hela. Hela kills Major Liberty in this flashback memory.

The end of this comic book shows Hammond being defeated by Tanalth, but then saved from death by the intervention of Captain America and Bucky, the Winter Soldier. In the course of Tanalth's pursuit of the Torch, she kills Hammond's boss and destroys parts of the town of Blaketon.

The final page shows a scene on Hala, the Kree homeworld, where we find Namor, the Sub-Mariner, a captive of the Kree Supreme Intelligence.

Review Recommendation: This is a good book. The art is clear, defined, and give a good feel to the reader of what is going on in the minds of the characters. The writing is superb, with James Robinson being a master of working with the Golden Age "Legacy Characters." If you like the Invaders or any of their individual members, or just like seeing the Golden Age heroes in action, pick this Invaders book up and read it. Robinson mentioned in interviews that this series will see other Golden Age characters, both heroes and villains.
