Avengers Infinity War Trailer

Take a look at the latest Marvel Studios trailer of the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War film.

This movie has basically every superhero thus far introduced into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and will feature the first meeting of the Guardians of the Galaxy with the Earth-based Avengers and other superheroes. As fans know, Thanos (the bad guy), has been behind all sorts of nefarious plots leading back to Loki’s attempt to take over Earth with the Chitauri invasion back in the first Avengers movie. Out on the cosmic side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Guardians of the Galaxy have been dealing with Thanos and his lackeys (Ronin the Accuser and Nebula) for a while now.

Clearly, Thanos is the big connector for all the moving parts in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and, based on this trailer, it should be one heck of a ride. By the way, notice that we have an end-credits-type scene at the conclusion of the trailer?

Gamora of Infinity Watch and Guardians of the Galaxy

Gamora was created by Marvel writer Jim Starlin in 1975. Gamora first appeared in Strange Tales #180 (June 1975). Gamora is the adopted daughter of Thanos, and the last of her species (Zen-Whoberis). Her powers include superhuman strength and agility and an accelerated healing factor. She also is an expert fighter, being able to defeat almost anyone in the galaxy. Her sometime lovers include Adam Warlock and Nova.

Gamora has worked with Adam Warlock’s Infinity Watch team but is best known as a member Guardians of the Galaxy. . Zoe Saldana plays the character in the 2014 live-action film Guardians of the Galaxy and its sequel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

Guardians of the Galaxy: A New Novel Coming

The Guardians of the Galaxy, stars from both comics and film, will also soon appear in a novel (ie. a REAL book, as some snobs might say), in April of 2017. Written by Young Adult (YA) author Corinne Duyvis (visit her website), the upcoming novel will place an emphasis on the character of Groot, and force the Guardians to ally themselves with a not-so-nice alien that fans of the Guardians movie will recognize: The Collector!
Here is the write-up of upcoming book Guardians of the Galaxy: Collect Them All from Duyvis’ website:

We are Groot!
When the Guardians attempt to evacuate a Kree prison planet and end up in a fight for their lives – what else is new? – they discover their old pal Groot is stretched a little thin. Someone is planting stolen branches of the monosyllabic hero and selling the saplings across the galaxy!
The search to find Groot’s missing pieces forces the Guardians into an alliance with the unscrupulous Collector, but the real problem is more complicated than he wants them to believe. The seller is a kid. And she’s got more than a few things in common with Gamora – like green skin and a wild temper. Now with an unruly teen in tow, the Guardians attempt to track down the remaining Groots – and discover an interplanetary conspiracy. War looms on the horizon. It’s a race against the Collector, Groot himself, and the entire Kree armada. It’s battle as Rocket likes it best.
